I went through the same exact thing! So have no fear! It will get better! My son would not take a pacifier for months. He gagged and spit it out every time. And if he did for some reason suck on it, it never lasted longer then 2 minutes. And once he spit it out he wouldn’t take it again for weeks. And I was his pacifier. Which wasn’t so bad at home, but when we were out and about i just couldn’t walk around with my boob out for him to suck on, then pull off, then suck on, then pull off over and over. Then miraculously, one day, right before he turned 4 months old, he started taking a pacifier, and he went from hating pacifiers to loving them in that one day. Now he will take a soothie, gumdrop, binky (shaped like mothers nipple kind, not the orthodontic kind), and a gerber natural flex (or something like that). Although he prefers the Binky to any of them. Now he takes a pacifier all of the time. I honestly don’t know what it was that caused the sudden reversal. I mean literally one day he was gagging on every pacifier I tried (and I literally tried them all) to the next day he just loved them. I don’t know if it was because he has started teething and now chews on everything or because he has started acting like he wants solids and lets something other than boob being put in his mouth or what. But now he loves the binky. So it shoudl get better! Before he started taking the binky he would not suck on my finger, but he would suck on my hand. It’s hard to explain where at, but on my left hand on the side that my thumb is on, the knot between my thumb and my wrist, that is where he would suck until he took the binky.
