I did this drawing tutorial to show the various steps I take to draw a realistic face. I made this tutorial a while ago and hopefully I'll have time to make another one because some of my technique has changed since then.
I buy all my supplies from Blick Art Materials. Buying your stuff from this link helps me keep adding to this site.
Step 1 - Choose a good reference picture. pictures are large and good reference clear....
Art can be defined to any novice artist as learning how to paint, draw or sculpt. Yet to an artist of Bounkhong's nature, art means unleashing ones' imagination into an open canvass and not letting people, insecurities or perfectionism stop him from being who he is. A free spirit.
Bounkhong has been drawing since he was 3-years-old. It all started when his mom gave him his first set of crayons and a coloring book. Bounkhong wasn't a fan of coloring in confined spaces and fell in love with the white walls surrounding his home.
"Whenever there was empty space, I would try to fill it up. In fact, I drew on storybooks and in second grade, drew all over my desk. My teachers were mad at me but I just couldn't stop doodling on any open space," Bounkhong said.
He knew at a young age that art was his escape from the confinements of mundane routine. No matter where he is, whether it's at work or traveling across the U.S, he's constantly armed with a mechanical pencil, a kneaded eraser, a Micron pen and his Copic sketch markers.
