Weekend means pancake breakfast in our hostel Backpackers, which has left very angry little boy that he was denied the pot "(vegemite) toast," he has been barking for from the moment he woke. Fortunately there were remnants of pre-buttered bread over from a BBQ last night, which was provided for him, a riot early in the morning was avoided. There is a kind of sporting event called the Masters of Champions or something happening in Sydney at the moment - we continued to see groups of people walking around town with their badges and backpacks, and there some stay here, but they do not look (and I hope none of them will have a great offense to that,) ER, they do not really look like elite athletes. They look good, a little old. Indeed, when we studied is an event for over 25 years ... and the rest! There is a great group of ladies who live here are obviously part of it, and offered to play with little boy while I queue for pancakes. We got chatting and it turns out he was actually retained by the Ladies Papua New Guinea Over-30 football team....
THE way Pat Johnson bounces on his door and throw open the screen, it is hard to believe she is 82.
Despite his small stature, the resident of North Plympton fills his house with laughter and energy.
The secret, she says, is his 50-odd years of volunteering.
"Life is what you make of it," she said, her eyes sparkling behind his glasses rimmed with pink.
"You can help people almost every day or you can sit around at home not doing much," she said. "I know what I prefer. If I'm sitting around my house, I'll just age."
Since 1956, Ms. Johnson has volunteered as a badge of poppy and seller to help raise funds for one-on RSL Anzac and Remembrance Day.
Several times she has raised more than any other volunteers, including a record $ 2,000 five years ago. Award Winning Custom Logo Design 100% Money Back Guarantee.
