It looks fantastic, but I'm always leary of buying TV Commercial products. There is another one out there that looks exactly the same, but I can't remember the name of it right now. Does it work? Is it well constructed?

This time becomes a bit ridiculous.
It's too hot to cook, let alone eat anything hotter than a popsicle. Yet the generosity of the production of summer is upon us. With so many delicious vegetables coming into season, it seems a shame not to at least one serious attempt to prepare a meal worthy.
My solution to this dilemma was to dive face first into the cucumbers, of all things.
I grant you that most of the year, I tend to overlook the cucumber. The generic supermarket variety tends to be waxy, exterior and overcome with large, soft seeds inside.But increasingly, I see the smallest varieties of cucumber firmer and less suspicious of being sold at my local food not to mention the appeal very local offerings now available at the farmers market here (and low yard garden of my mother) on the Middle Coast. Suddenly, the humdrum basic salad of the year has started to make me sign and I am reminded of how vegetables that good cool, watery, crunchy and refreshing can be....
