It has come time for new tires on my 2000 Toyota Tundra 4wd. I have been running separate winter tires, but need to go with one tire year round do to storage issues.

I personally don't like any of them. I would stick with the tried and true BFGoodrich AT's. They ride very well, have a decent longevity and are one of the best all terrain tires on the market. They might cost a bit more than the Generals or Firestones

QUESTION: I own a 2002 Mercedes S430 with 97,000 miles and needs a left side catalytic converter. The factory replacement is about $2,600 for one side. My question is why did it fail on an $80,000 car with under 100,000 miles? My mechanic suggested an aftermarket replacement for under $1,000. What are the downfalls of the aftermarket converter? It carries a 5-year warranty.
ANSWER: It is not often I would recommend an aftermarket catalytic converter for a vehicle. Most inexpensive aftermarket converters fail after only 40,000 miles. A good quality aftermarket with such a price difference in this case is what I would recommend. Catalytic converters fail for many reasons, such as and not limited too mechanical engine faults, oil burning, engine misfire, engine temperature (too cold or hot), too much or too little fuel, ignition timing, EGR valve operation, plus other factors.
